October Goals and Intentions

Happy fall everyone! Being that it is now October, it is time to update our goals and intentions for the new month (or however often that you like to reflect and renew your goals). For October there are some changes and some similarities to my goals and intentions from last month. But there is nothing wrong with that! I like to think of it as small changes and transformations that happen over a long time period (like evolving). That is, while there are similarities between my new and previous goals/intentions, there are also changes and adaptations that I have made to that list that works best for my current self.

I think being able to reflect, review, and renew oneself is a powerful tool. Especially when it comes to bettering one’s self, establishing new habits and lifestyle changes, and recognizing and understanding what does and does not work.

Alright, let us get into it!

For October I have three main goals:

  1. Consistency
  2. Quality
  3. Reading

In correlation with those goals are my intentions behind them.

Consistency

My goal is to be consistent with my overall strength training. So, that includes consistency with my workouts, nutrition, and sleep. All are important parts of the lifestyle I love living, and consistency further enhances the benefits of all three.

Quality

Quality is always more important than quantity (at least that is what I am coming to realize throughout this fitness journey). That is the quality of food, of exercise, of sleep, etc. I am going to utilize quality to better focus on the intention of my actions in every aspect of my fitness. This, in turn, will keep me moving forward and keep me focused.

Reading

Finally, reading. I have been very interested in wanting to learn as much as I can when it comes to living a healthy life. This is a habit I want to carry over from last month by reading 10 pages a day and continuing to find more books to read. (I want all of the knowledge in my brain.) I am just about done reading “Atomic Habits”, and have another two or three books to read next.
